Outcome-
Describe and articulate the scale of surrounding built forms, and compare texture and form.
Description and correlation of datums and the various changing material.
The process of working through a composition within the boundary of the facade
To view volumes and relationships of building forms
-Circulation areas
-Courtyard progression
Collage: to allow an insight into differentiating texture and material
‘Malleable height’ (allowing volume)
Crossing of circulation, thus affecting height and volume
Relationship to street
Material + texture in colour and application
Display of various learning areas
Modulated general learning area simulated arrangement
A long section, cutting through the tall volume of the library to explore material and light. The relationships between the levels and their designated or discovered programs. Also the threshold between the swimming pool and the street above.
Raised above the library over looking the pool and street. An area with no disclosed program, small enough to allow a single person to read a book chosen from below or a group of people to sit and converse.
Situated on the landing of the stairs to the library lookout, a large window protrudes past the perimeter of the wall. A seat is formed under the large volume of the space above. Views to the campus across the street and the warm north light of the sun. In the afternoon, the setting sun shines through the open bricks above onto the wall above.
